Great Falls Optimist Club

For the fourth year in a row, long-time Great Falls Optimist Club member Linda Thompson is donating the use of her fabulous refurbished bank barn just outside of downtown Great Falls for an evening of great music, delicious food and wonderful camaraderie. This year the music will be Classic Rock by the local band Standing Room Only. A tent will be set up outside so dancers can spill out into the starlit night during breaks in the dancing, while inside the barn revelers will enjoy the ambiance of an old-fashioned setting, complete with bales of straw, quilts hanging on the walls, and wide-plank wooden floors. Modern space heaters and electric lights provide contemporary creature comforts.

Funds raised this year will support Camp Fraser, a local camp that brings children from the inner city to the "wild woods" of Great Falls for a week of hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, counseling and more.

"The dance is always great fun," said Optimist Club President Calvert Thompson. "It’s not every day you get to have a great party and dance in an old barn like this and at the same time help young people in the community. The crowd gets bigger every year, as more people discover the Optimist Club and hear about the good times at the barn dance, so we expect to fill the barn to capacity this year. I hope people will buy their tickets in advance so they're sure to get in!"
