The Small Club with A Proud History and Big AmbitionsThe Great Falls Optimist Club is proud to announce that it is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. In addition, the Club changed is now officially a 501(c)3 nonprofit, which means that donations are tax deductible, as are a significant portion of annual dues. Every year, the Optimist Club organizes and staffs the ever-popular Spring Festival and egg hunt, which will again be held on the Village Green in the center of town. “Many people who look forward to bringing their children to this terrific event every year have no idea who puts it on, who does all the work behind the scenes, or where the money goes that we raise through this event,” Mr. Cook noted. “I hope that by learning more about our mission, they discover a second reason to participate – helping children in our community. I also hope that by learning more about the Great Falls Optimist Club, people who attend the Spring Festival also join our dedicated organization and support our work through donations and membership.” A small club with big ambitions, the Great Falls Optimist

“We have always been a nonprofit,” noted President T.R. Cook, “but until now we had a different IRS classification which meant that donations were not tax deductible. This change, which is taking place at the national level, should make it easier and even more appealing to companies and individuals interested in supporting our important work.” Since 1980, the Great Falls Optimist Club has provided meals and holiday gifts to dozens of local families in need; funded important classroom equipment for local schools serving children with emotional disabilities; organized and funded projects such as the Great Falls Playground, and more.
